Natalie Paper Doll Tag

I love how this tag turned out. It's one of my favorites.

A black and white 2" strip from Harper's boutique paper pad was applied across the bottom of a 4 x 8" manila tag.
Tim's picked raspberry and festive berries distress inks were appplied over clockwork layering stencils followed by dot fade layering stencil with vintage photo.
Heat set.
Use foam applicator with these distress inks over the entire tag including the 2" strip of paper:
Picked Raspberry
Seedless Preserves
 Festive Berries

Place tag on craft sheet, tape down Dyan's checkered dots stencil over tag, use plastic tool to apply modeling paste over left side of stencil, lift off. Clean stencil with water immediately, set aside to dry, place stencil over the tag again matching dots, spray Primrose color shine over entire stencil, pull off stencil, before cleaning stencil apply wet stencil to another tag, clean stencil, set tags aside to dry.

Stamp border image across bottom of tag with black ink.

Leftover flowers from previous tag were used and applied to my tag. http://wwwstampedimpressions.blogspot.com/2014/08/handmade-flowers-with-valentina-paper.html

Tim's word stamp was inked on manila card stock, cut out, distress edges with black ink, lightly picked raspberry on surface of stamped piece and then applied to tag.

My Natalie stamped and inked image by Julie Nutting was dressed with designer paper and then applied to tag using my Xyron.
Prima's flourish metal sticker was applied to finish my tag.

Playing in my Journal

Just a shortie today to show you a couple of things I got at the Heart of Ohio Tole (HOOT) painting convention. My silly camera had a case of the wanders today and I was going to cut that part out. But then I thought, this is too funny to miss! So bear with me as my shot travels to show the real mess on my painting/crafting table!

This was fun and relaxing to do, so when you want to make some art, but you want it unstructured, this is the way to go!

If you look close you can see the Interference Violet Shimmer on the head and neck.

My August Tag for 2014

Tim says, create showing your own creative muse for August tag.
http://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-2014-august/
I had a lot of fun making this piece!
I was inspired to play with stamps by Ranger to make my tag for 12 Tags of 2014 ~August.
I follow my creative muse following the use of tissue tape, stamping and adding texture and then used Dina Wakley image from "Face in the Crowd" over the tissue tape.
I looked through my stencils and found a flower design. It was used to add a thin layer of modeling paste on my tag and then aside to dry. Once dry, I applied distress stains to my craft sheet as Tim shares on his blog; link above. I used wild honey, victorian velvet, broken china, bundled sage and tumbled glass. I loved the bright colors the stain produced over the tag. And then it was time to finish my tag.

In a few places around the tag I applied Tim's burlap layering stencil with vintage photo distress ink. This really stood out when I did the final step with distress embossing ink and distress powder.

12 years ago on my first yahoo group, I put a washer over an eye on a stamped image similar to what I've done today. Estelle, the owner of the group asked me what inspired me to add a washer over her eye?
Working on my tag today, I felt like I needed to do a repeat and with a twist so I attached a piece of film strip with a mini stapler across the tag and over eye with a distress painted sprocket gear.

I applied 140 lb. watercolor paper to a round metal charm, stained it with distress inks and then added remnant rubs. It was then adhered to tag using one of Tim's brads with ring.

Years ago, Tim had tiny clips; I still have some in my stash. Broken china paint was used to distress the clip and then applied to tag with clip hugging around tag as seen in photo. I used one of his sprocket gears distressed with broken china paint and a brad on to the top clip. Doing so made my gear spin. I also added several more sprocket gears together adding broken china to one gear and then adding game spinner and brad to my tag.
Distress embossing ink was added around the tag followed by vintage photo distress powder, pouring off extra and then heat set.
A piece of vintage ribbon was sprayed with water and then add a few coordinate distress stains on craft sheet, rub ribbon into inks and then wrinkle, set aside to dry or heat set to dry.

Add to tag.
My tag has spinning gears, raised flower designs, sprocket gears and game spinner.

"Follow Your Heart"

I used these products on my tag:
distress stains, distress paints, tissue tape, film strip ribbon,
distress powder, distress inks, distress embossing ink,
mini stapler, remnant rubs, burlap layering stencil, craft sheet.
sprocket gears, game spinner, mini clip and a few brads.
Archival black ink and heat it tool, mini applicator, modeling paste, vintage ribbon, watercolor paper and a round charm.

Julie Nutting Stamped Tag

I love how this piece turned out.
The background started out as a designer page and then covered with distress inks, prima stamps, tissue tape, prima flowers, clock (prima paper pad) bling, chit chat by tim holtz and a prima doll stamped image by julie nutting. This time I used her as she is with her boots on. The designer paper used as her dress was perfect to complement the background.
You can find Prima stamps, flowers and other stamping supplies in the Emporium when it gets back up and running.

Girls Night Out using Julie Nutting Stamps

It's been a lot while since I felt like posting any artwork. I enjoyed making this tag using some of my Prima doll stamps along with other stamping supplies.
The flowers and Julie Nutting doll stamps are by Prima, Tim Holtz glitter and one of his stencils, Color Shine spray inks by Heidi Swapp, designer paper, clear stamp and bling in flowers are from my stash. The spray inks I used doesn't show as vibrant as it is in person.

Layered Framed Dragonfly

I finally got this die! Come play with me!

After I finished videotaping, I decided it needed a little something more. So I got out a Tim Holtz wordplate, swiped it with TH Tumbled Glass paint and then wiped it so the only paint was in the indented word. Then glued it to the top of the frame with two  matching brads!
