God Bless You Tag

Happy Friday!!
I wanted to share this background technique I did.
I started with a 3 1/2 x 6 piece thin chipboard. I did a thin coat of gesso.
Allow to dry good.
Then using Tim Holtz distress stains I plopped it down in several areas so that it made
a SPLAT!
then I lightly spritzed some water on it and let it mix around a little
fold a paper towel in half and gently blot the darkest off. Allow to dry and then splat the bronzed pewter. I tapped the paper towel a little over it.  The pewter left a beautiful shiny finish which I adore!
Then using a stencil and some cocoa ink and stenciled Hope for a cure.  I LOVE this stencil!!
I am a little biased because a good friend of mine designed the stencil.
Hope for a cure Stencil #1070 @ Royal Inspirations by Retta
Then I embellished my tag  with a piece of ripped cardboard (I spritzed with Lindy's Stamp Gang -which we now carry in the store!!)  I colored my cute bear image with Prisma colored pencils.  The little cut designer paper is from Graphic 45. Then I added an eyelet for a ribbon.
 My finished tag below!
You can find almost all the products used here in Robyn's store:  Outlaw Women Scrapbook
Emporium.

I hope you have a fabulous Friday! Come back tomorrow for another project using Royal Inspirations by Retta!

Dream Mixed Media Tag

I started off by stamping the letters onto the tag with versa mark and embossed with white embossing powder.    colored over it with a red gelato.  I cleaned the letters off with a cue tip.

Then I stamped a large doily stamp with versa mark and embossed with light blue embossing powder.
I then rubbed some distress inks over the tag with Tim Holtz tool.  I used mustard yellow, vintage photo and old paper.

I stamped my Prima coll onto white cardstock and again on a couple of scrap pieces.  I cut the designer scrap pieces out and paper pieced her clothes.  I love doing that!
Added some snow writer for the lacy frill on the bottom of her skirt, some liquid pearls to her sweater and head band and some glossy accents to her shoes.
Tied on some seam binding and I was done!

 She turned out fabulous!!!

Mixed Media Tag

Everyone is loving mixed media. What does that really mean? You can use anything you want!

I started with a Prima tag, Liquitex modeling paste and a clock stencil.  Allow to dry before continuing.
I went thru my stash and dug up some chipboard flowers, a heart I had left over from another project and some buttons.  Dug thru my alphabet letters and found these thickers and spelled adore.  I glued them on with Scotch Adhesive glue and E6000 (on the two larger buttons)

I sprayed several inks alternating with water to allow it to drip and run.  (we have new Lindy's Stamp Gang spray inks in the shop!!)

Using my Traditions liner paint brush, I took dark brown paint and went around each item (water it down) and it gives a good shadow.

Using my finger and some Rub and Buff-I started hitting the higher areas.

My finished tag!  GORGEOUS!

Here's a close up of all the textures.  I put some heart bling in various places.

I hope this will inspire you to try your hand at some mixed media.

Saturday Special - Vintage Tag

I created this Vintage Tag for a Swap I'm in with the Yahoo Group Altered Designs..

To start I used a Tim Holtz Tag and embossed it with a Cuddle Bug Embossing Folder though  I did use my Vagabond Machine. I broke my Cuddlebug. LOL

Once I embossed it I sprayed Glimmer Mist on it. I used three colors.. Sand, Creme De Rouge and Jubilee..

Then I distressed the edges of the tag with my Tim Holtz Distresser and ran some Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Walnut Stain" around it and a bit into the edge.. I took some Gold Rub n Buff and went over the raised areas on the embossing. Be careful with this stuff. Use just a little bit on your finger tip..

Now while this was drying I painted all the flowers. I used Perfect Pearls and Twinkling H20's.. I like both.. I added some gum arabic to my craft mat and applied the gum arabic when I was painting the flowers. This is to seal the paint.. It's like a fixative. Then I let my flowers dry. Actually after a while I was impatient so I used my Heat Gun.. LOL

I adhered the flowers together using Glossy Accents..  Now it was time to put it all together.. I had printed my image out on Cardstock. So I used a Glue stick to adhere her to the tag.. Then I put my trim on using Glossy Accents.. Added the flowers once again using Glossy Accents.. I had added the pearls into the flowers once the were dried. I printed off the saying on regular copy paper then misted the paper with the same colors of Glimmer Mist I used on the Tag.. Once the paper was dry I glued it to some white cardstock.. Cut out the small pieces and ran some Walnut Stain around the edges.. Then I put some pop dots on the back. OMG that wasn't too much fun as it's so little and it kept sticking to my fingers, falling down to the floor or not in the right spot!! LOL  I finally got it done though.  I took some more trim and with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher attached it to the back and finally the last thing was to add the Bling! This took about three hours to do because of Drying time, painting the flowers and drinking coffee in between. LOL

Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it! ROFL!!   If you give this a try I'd love to see your Tags... Send them to me at owse@ididitcreations.com..

All of my products I bought a Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium.. Well not all. I bought the Trim at Joann's.. LOL

Have fun creating everyone!!
