Mold and Pour Fun

I love playing with my Melting Pot...hope you enjoy this video and get your own melting pot out and play with it!

Here is what my first mold, the angel looks like finished. I first covered it with Adirondack Snow Cap Mixative, let it dry then I put some Rub n Buff Gold Leaf on my finger and spread it around into the creases. I love how this turned out. The fact that it is only a partial mold of the angel itself makes it look ancient and broken by age and environment! I'll be using this one again and again!

Halloween Spread

This spread started out as a technique Robyn shared in chat July 18, 2012. it was then finished a bit different.
This is how I completed this page.
Work quickly to apply a thin coat of gel medium and then apply tissue paper to cover page. Some wrinkling is normal. Dry before going to next step.
Stamp the spider web with archival black ink. Heat Set to Dry.
Leaves by Dylusions was added around the page.
And the stamps from Doodle Parts stamp set by Dylusions.

Ink and stamp tiny bugs and larger spiders by Dylusions.
Skeleton is from Sizzix Halloween Set; 656236 The skeleton is about 11" tall. It's put together with white brads. I used Copic markers as highlights on the skeleton.
I used semi-moist watercolor crayons from Prang that did well with the tissue paper on this spread.
I used Inkssentials Glue n' Seal by Ranger to glue the skeleton and spider. http://ididitcreations.com/club/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=7072

Robyn asked us to use Dylusions or Color Wash to drizzle down the spread. I already had the skeleton down and realize that I missed that step.

Spray Inks and CHA Fun

An opportunity to go to CHA in Chicago dropped into my lap and I am sharing a few pictures with you. I got to meet Tim Holtz! I saw some great things and had so much fun. I also met young Drew of Cardofmyeye video fame,at the Prima booth, and Megan Elizabeth at her booth.
Here are a few photos! The Zebra High Heel Tape Dispenser was a free make and take at the 3M booth...you know I had to make it purple!

Sorry, this picture won't behave and right itself!

Now some fun with Dylusions Spray Inks!

STAMPED GEMSTONE BEAD PENDANT
by
Kathy Nycz

Supplies
Flat gemstone bead
eyepin large enough to fit through bead and to make a loop
head pin large enough for a dangle bead and to make a loop
beads of choice
stringing wire
clasp
4 crimp beads
wire cutters, crimping tool
small stamp to fit on gemstone bead
pigment ink pad
embossing powder
heat tool
diamond glaze

Wipe the bead with a soft cloth to remove all dust and oils. Using pigment ink, stamp a small design on one side of the gemstone bead. Sprinkle with embossing powder and heat. Allow pendant to cool. The stone gets very hot so do not touch until cool. When cool, squirt on some Diamond Glaze and spread over stamped design and entire front of pendant. Let Dry.

Put a small bead on a headpin and make a loop. Open the loop on the eyepin, put on the dangle and close eyepin loop. Put on the stamped pendant and make a loop at the top. String a necklace with beads of choice.

Gemstone beads can be found on several on-line companies and at bead shows.
