Friday Technique is GELATOS

Owls are really popular and so are Gelatos.

Mix & Match Gelatos & Clear Stamp Set- Blue
Here's what they look like  They are in tubes much like chapstick.  They are water soluable.  You can either use them straight or with water.  Adding water weakens the colors.
I followed a tutorial on you tube by Andrea Gomoll here.
I started with a gesso'd background.  the started scribbling on the gelatos.  You don't even have to be neat with it.  Cause once you get it all over in the design you want, you take a lightly wet paintbrush and smooth the lines out.  I then used several stencils all around with different colors of gelatos.  I used a script stamp here and there too.
I cut the pieces for the owl out of pages from a book. Stuck them down with Glue and Seal.  I colored the owl using brown, grey, yellow, red.  Used my finger to smudge the gelato.  When you get it like you want, outline it with a ziggy black liner pen.
I hope you'll visit our shop HERE.  We have 20-25% off Everyday.

Thanks for stopping by-please let me know how you use your gelatos.  I'm loving them!!

Thanks

Friday technique & GIVEAWAY

Hello!  I hope you are having a great week.  Today is TGIF!!!

Today our technique involves modeling paste.  Over at our shop we're giving you a DEAL on modeling paste.  Just go HERE and click on Special of week on the left side.  It'll take you straight to our special every week.

Modeling paste adds lots of texture whenever you use it.

I've used it on my layout on the background paper to add dimension and interest.  I added some paint to the modeling paste & it does great!  Not only did I smear it over top of a stencil, but what was left on my palette knife, I rubbed across the corners to clean it off.  Cool huh?

I layered several colors of cardstock under my photos.  Did some stamping here and there. Love how the colors just make me happy!

We are having a Great GIVEAWAY this week!!  One lucky person can win a surprise package!!

Friday Prima Doll Special

TGIF!!  Thank goodness it's Friday!

I have something exciting to share with you today!

For the next week Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium is running a special on one of the new Prima dolls.  Her name is Riley.  Get an additional 10% off all week!! Get Yours Today!!

I've seen a lot of tags made with the dolls, but I wanted to show you a different way you can use the stamp.  I've altered a composition book.

The technique I used on the pink cardstock: I started off by stamping with a Kaiser script stamp using brown archival ink all over the whole piece.

Then I embossed white roses in the bottom left corner.  You can use any stamp set you want.

I paper pieced her dress.  Even added a little "snow" for the lace at the bottom of her dress.
I did a scallop border using brown card stock going down the left side.  The title was diecut out of K and Company paper. Rubbed the sentiments onto white cardstock.

Here's a direct link to see the stamp for yourself:  RILEY Prima Doll Rubber Stamp

I hope you 'll go over to the shop and see all the great products that are 20-25% lower than prices in other shops.

Thanks for stopping  by today!  Have a super weekend!

Friday Technique; Altered box

Happy Friday!

Thanks for joining us here at Crafting with OWSE.  Today I'm going to show you the steps I took to alter a box I bought at Goodwill for 50cents.

The first thing to do is paint the edges that will be seen with Gesso.  Measure and cut a piece of designer paper to fit around the box and on the bottom.  I glued them on with Glue and Seal.  Once dry, I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz distress paint Vintage photo.
Using G45 French Country paper, I fussy cut several items.  Glued them to the lid using Glue and seal.  I added some vintage lace around the edge.
I diecut a piece of cardstock and ran it thru my Big Shot and embossed.  Then cut a small piece of G45 and glued to the center.
I fussy cut the rooster and glued to the opposite side.
You can buy all the products used today at our shop.

Friday Technique-late!

I wanted to share a new technique I've learned.  Uses tissue paper.

You start by stamping your image on a piece of plain white tissue paper.
You crumble the paper up into a ball.  Squeeze it around.  You want wrinkles.
Gently open it up and position it over some white cardstock.
I used the regular 5.5 x 4.25 size for the colored cardstock.  The white will have 1/4 inch less around the edges.

I think it's a pretty cool look.

Products used:
stamps-Stampin up and Market Street
Ink: coral, olive, celebration
cardstock
gluestick

Sorry my Technique Friday is late-I promise to be ON TIME next week!!

Have a super crafting week!
