Christmas Gag Gift-Bathroom Plunger Remodeled

Every year our family plays a dirty Santa game.  We have to spend $10.  This year my husband had a great idea when he ran across a plunger at the Dollar Tree store.
He asked if I could decorate it and we'd tape $10 underneath it.

I had picked up some pine cones in the yard several weeks ago and put them in the oven to kill the bugs.  The sap was still running and very sticky!
I knew what I wanted to try.

I had Donnie cut some of the handle down.  He rounded the top edge.

I had cut a whole page of diamonds with my cricut cartridge. I used the background on another project.  I had 120 triangles left over!  (used 12x12 white cardstock)
I spritzed them with these liquid pearls.  They were really light, but gives a definite glimmer and shine.

I spray painted the bottom of the plunger in gold.  I painted the handle with Tim Holtz vintage photo distress paint.
I hot glued the diamonds with a small piece of vintage lace-each one all over each pine cone.  Was a little time consuming, but so worth it!  I used hot glue to glue them to the pine cone petals.
I wrapped some gold wire (I had gotten it from dollar store a long time ago) The little mouse was in my stash as well as the gold wire ribbon.  I made me a bow easy with stiff cardboard so I could make a bigger bow and spread the layers.
Here's a shot of the rear.  I had this greenery that I went around it with  I think it turned out pretty cute!  I put the money in a small envelope and taped it under the plunger!! LOL  Pretty cute gag gift huh?

Chritmas in July-Vintage Tag

Happy Friday!

We're winding down with Christmas in July.  I wanted to share a Christmas tag I made today.

I wanted to encourage you to stretch outside the box on creating Christmas themes.
Today I used Graphic 45 French Country paper for most of my tag. I did sneak in a small square of Tim Holtz paper with the Christmas words.

I have a new stamp from Hampton Arts: Square Face Frame.  I definitely wanted to use her some way.

So here's what I came up with:

I mounted my face onto a piece of cardboard, colored her with prisma pencils.  Coated it with glossy accents.
I have a small piece of cheese cloth in the back, some lace and velvet ribbon on the bottom.  A couple of vintage buttons.
I love how it turned out!
I hope this inspires you to get your Christmas groove on!!

You can find all the products I used at our shop  HERE-Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium
